21-Day Fast Proclaimed.... Jan. 8 - 29, 2006

Pastor Jim Lewis has called the Ark International Church family to a 21-day partial fast, as found in the book of Daniel ( Daniel 10). A partial fast (Danial 1) is where we restrict our food intake, but do not totally abstain as in an absolute fast ( no food or water) or a normal fast ( without food, drinking water only).

What this fast involves:
1. A spiritual commitment - Not to sin against God. 2. Inner desire reflected by outer discipline - For 3 weeks, you'll choose to fast a meal a day. 3. Increased prayer life - Rather than eat, we use the time to pray, otherwise, fasting is meaningless. 4. A statement of faith to others - Many will see your commitment to Christ. 5. Yielding all results to God - God will be glorified.
What this fast can lead to:
1. Spiritual Insight and Wisdom. 2. New Spiritual Direction and Effectiveness. 3. Spiritual and Physical Health. 4. An Excellent Spirit and Favor among God and men.
Truths about fasting:
1. It loosens the bands of wickedness. (Isaiah 58:6) 2. It builds our faith. ( Matthew 17:21) 3. It makes it easier to hear the voice of the Lord. (Acts 13:2-3)

2006 Theme: Faith, Family, Fiesta!

Our Vision in 2006 is to connect people to Jesus Christ and build an international family of changed lives devoted to following God's plan for living the life of an overcomer in Jesus Christ our Lord. ( 1 John 5:1-5) FAITH. Our hearts were made for community. We hunger for the deep, authentic relationships Jesus had in mind when He prayed that His followers would be one. We are seeking to be a place where nobody stands alone. The Bible calls this "FAMILY". All Christ-followers belong to the family of God ( Ephesians 2:19). Jesus said that those who do the will of God are His family. Helping people grow together in their faith through close knit communities is what the ARK is all about. It is ou desire that our life would be an expression of worship and our services would experience God's power and presence in worship. FIESTA means to celebrate, to declare God's glory through our worship. The ARK strives to be a living witness that declares God's power and presence. To the Ark International Chruch, worship is more than a song or service, it is our purpose that our worship will be a celebration of His goodness and a declaration of His glory. Worship is a lifestyle that witnesses to the world that Jesus Christ is Lord.
